Five Traditions That Make Summer The Absolute Best

BaseballSummer has finally arrived! The sun is shining, the grass is growing, and school is almost out! The change in season got our team to thinking about our favorite summertime traditions and memories.

Here’s what we came up with:

Baseball – The sights and sounds of the ballpark cannot be matched for summertime traditions. Whether it’s a major league baseball game, or a hometown little league game, few things make me happier than a great ballgame. Feeling crafty? This mom designed a bag just for the ballpark. It’s grab, go, gametime!

S’Mores – The flavor of summer is s’mores. Sitting by the fire, roasting a marshmallow or two. Here’s a few interesting twists on the classic s’more. Remember to stay safe, and use the correct equipment for roasting these delicious treats!

Water – Swimming has always been a big part of my summers. Whether it was swimming lessons on weekday mornings, or afternoons spent lakeside, summer just doesn’t feel quite like summer until there’s water involved. I almost forgot about water parks! Here’s a list of some of the coolest water parks in the US.

Mother Nature – There’s nothing more I want to do when the sun is out than spend quality time with mother nature. Earlier this month was “Kids To Parks” – an initiative encouraging parents to visit a National Park with their children. Parents signed the pledge and hit the road on Saturday, visiting and spending time in National Parks all across the US. Trips to the parks aren’t reserved for just special occasions – take advantage of seasonal visitor’s pass – and hit up a few parks throughout the summer!

Parks & Rec – Finding activities, programs, and camps during the summer has never been easier. Download the GoStrive mobile app, or use GoStrive online, to quickly search and register for your summertime activities! The app is free to download, and saves you a trip to the Parks & Rec office! Talk about efficiency.

So that’s my list! What did I forget? Submit your favorite summertime memories, traditions, and favorites in the comments!
